Below is a list of the best five patient reviewed Posterior Night Splints for heel pain or plantar fasciitis.  Plantar Fasciitis is a very painful condition characterized by pain first step in the morning.  One of the ways to combat this pain is to wear a night splint at night which holds the foot at 90 degrees, reducing strain on the ligament thereby lessening pain.  This list was made entirely from patient reviews at multiple websites.  The night splints were graded on a score of 10 based on an average of the patient reviews about the night splint.

5. Dorsal Night Splint from Alimed 7.5/10

This is so much more comfortable to sleep in

For it to truly be in a position for your foot correctly, the back straps cut into your leg

The placement of the brace on the front allows greater foot movement, allows maximim air circulation, lets you place one foot on top of the foot with the brace in comfort.

I cannot tell you how happy and satisfied I am with this product. I expect I will be fully cured withing weeks, not months and years.

4. Active Dorsal Night Splint 8/10

I tried several different types of night splints and this one was by far the best. The others pulled my foot at such an angle that it would make my entire leg hurt all night long. This one does just the perfect angle.

Not for woman with small feet

I have plantar faciitis. I try this night splint for a few nights. I really wanted this night splint to work for me. But it seem to hurt the top of my foot, So I found I just could not use it.

I have had plantar faciitis for about 2 years now, and always dreaded getting up in the morings or in the middle of the night. But this splint is a life saver. NO PAIN. Only issue is it could be smaller for woman’s smaller feet.

3. Darco Night Splint Body Armor 8/10

I have plantars heel and already had one of the boots and bought another one for the other foot. I’ve tried others, and this night splint is by far the most comfortable and effective one. It stays in place and keeps your foot flexed all night. I wouldn’t waste my money on any other model.

purchased this because it looked the most comfortable and not as bulky as the other choices. It’s easy to put on and fits well. It does take a little getting used to it, but it is worth it when I can get out of bed and walk!

2. Bird and Cronin Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint: 8.5/10

No pain walking in the morning and continued throught the day

I have had days recently where I limped all day because of the pain. I have been wearing the brace at night for about 4 weeks. I have had several ‘pain free’ days in the past week for the first time in a year. The first steps out of bed are just ‘tender’ at worst.

Wearing it at night makes getting out of bed a “happy” experience”

1. Royce Form Fit Night Splint with Tread: 9/10

Simple and effective

The splint works as it should. I’m still adjusting the tightness of the straps as the middle strap still limits the blood flow to my foot in the middle of the night.

I chose this unit because it was one of the less expensive and looked pretty good. Having used it for several weeks now, I’d say it is more than pretty good – it does what it’s supposed to do, it’s not uncomfortable, I can sleep with it on, and the adjustments are obvious and effective. Every adjustment is held by Velcro, so once made they stay put. This is a well-designed, well-made appliance.
