Many doctors and patients swear by biofreeze. The common question is does biofreeze work for Plantar Fasciitis? The answer is yes and no. Biofreeze will not cure plantar fasciitis. Plantar Fasciitis is caused by tightness and/or damage to the Plantar Fascia ligament. Biofreeze will do nothing to correct the underlying disorder. However, if you choose to wear biofreeze it will cause a decrease in pain through the course of the foot, where it is applied. Similar to how it works for back pain, it will not cure your slipped disc but may make the pain more manageable. I would personally not apply it more than twice a day, but there are patients that swear by the results. Biofreeze may have some benefit if it reduces the pain you feel in the plantar fascia as it will make the plantar fasciitis easier to stretch out. While it is not available in stores, you do not have to see a doctor for them to sell it for you. You can purchase it from Amazon for half the price of a doctors mark up.
