Best Shoes for Nurses with Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis or Heel Spur syndrome is a painful condition of the heel that commonly effects Nurses.  What happens is the ligament on the bottom of your foot becomes tight.  There are many different ways of treating Plantar Fasciitis.

One way is to change your shoe gear.  One commonly performed treatment is orthotics to fit in your shoe.  This is a common treatment and can be very effective.

But, a common treatment that is often successful is simply changing the shoes you wear to work.  What you want to look for in a shoe for Plantar Fasciitis, is good arch support, a deep heel cup, and extra padding at the heel.  These are the three characteristics you want for a shoe for a nurse with Plantar Fasciitis.

Below I have listed some examples of shoes Nurses can wear to help with Plantar Fasciitis:

NurseMates Shoes: Women Louise Non-Slip Nursing Shoes-  I like this shoe because it has an EVA insole which provides the padding that one needs when suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. These shoes all feature a firm heal contour to help control any biomechanical issues.

New Balance Walking Service Shoe–  I love New Balance sneakers and the main reason I love New Balance is they put form as their first and foremost priority when creating a shoe.  This shoe will help support and contour to your arch, while also featuring a deep heel cup.

Sketchers for Work Women’s Maraton Lace Up–  This shoe is non slip and probably provides more padding than any of the other shoes I listed.  This also features a removable contoured insole to help support your arch.
