When you are on your feet like a Nurse it is more a question of when you will get plantar fasciitis, then an if. As a nurse, you know there are tons of treatments for plantar fasciitis from injections, stretching, orthotics and night splints. Some work will for you, some will not. A simple treatment that most nurses with plantar fasciitis can try and should have good results is purchasing some insoles or orthotics for when you work. But what are the best for plantar fasciitis? You want an insole that has padding to help reduce stress and strain on the plantar fascia as well as provide arch support. Below I have listed what I believe are the best orthotics or insoles for nurses with Plantar Fasciitis:
Spenco– If you have ever felt at work, man I wish there was a way I could walk on pillows, you may want to consider getting a Spenco orthotic or insole. Spenco features a unique technology that provides a great deal of comfort and shock absorbtion while ambulating. This orthotic may not provide the greatest arch support but if you are looking for an orthotic to provide you comfort consider purchasing a Spenco orthotic.
Superfeet– These orthotics were originally created with runners in mind. But the great thing about these orthotics is that they are specifically formulated for specific foot types. From high arches to low arches superfeet has a specific orthotic. They are divided by colors for each orthotic but if you click on the link you will see this orthotic also provides comfort, though not as much as Spenco.
Powerstep orthotics are one of the more popular orthotic or insole on the market currently sold by Podiatrists. This orthotic features a deep heel cup and solid arch support. If one of the requirements you want from your orthotic is something to help with your arches and propel you through the day then consider getting a Powerstep insole or orthotic.
