Plantar Fasciitis is a condition characterized by pain when you first get up in the a.m.. There are myriads of treatments for plantar fasciitis, which can become chronic. Whether it is stretching, insoles, injections or night splints, not everything works and sometimes all that is needed is a change in shoegear. New Balance is a popular sneaker in today’s marketplace, especially for those people suffering from painful foot conditions. A lot of times a person will hear the Podiatrist say “Wear some New Balance”.. but then the person gets on line and there are hundred of different designs and types of New Balance sneakers or shoes for plantar fasciitis. How do you determine what New Balance sneaker to wear?
What I have done here is attempted to highlight the type of New Balance shoe or sneaker that would help the person suffering from painful plantar fasciitis.
First question: what am I looking for in the sneaker? Simple:
A minimally elevated heel, firm heel contour, flexion restricted to the toe box. The midsole should not bend or torque too much, good arch support as well.
Obviously if you wear prescription or custom orthotics then a good arch support would be unneccesary for the shoe since you already have arch support with the orthotic.
