Plantar Fasciitis hurts. The pain starts with your first step in the morning and follows you the rest of the day. There are many treatments for plantar fasciitis from stretching, to cortisone shots to orthotics. One of the easier treatments is just to wear better shoes. A shoe that gives you a great deal of shock absorbtion as well as solid arch support can be very effective in treating plantar fasciitis. Clogs are shoes that some people choose to wear at work or for recreation and some clogs are better than others for Plantar Fasciitis. Below I have given examples of some of the more effective clogs for Plantar Fasciitis.
Sketchers for Work Clog– This clog features two ideal traits for treating plantar fasciitis. It features a shock absorbing insole and a removable insole, so if you wear orthotics this would be an ideal shoe to get. It does lack in solid arch support however, but I would recommend this if you already have an insole to wear.
Dansko Professional Cabrio Leather Clog– This clog has the unique characteristic of having a heel contour which helps reduce pronation which can aggravate Plantar Fasciitis. It also features a great deal of arch support. This shoe also features a leather outsole to help reduce the stress that is placed on the foot. It is also the most expensive on the list, so while it may be the best shoe, there are clogs that can be just as effective for lower prices.
Sanita Professional Cabrio Clog– This shoe is recommended by Podiatrists. One of the reasons this shoe is so highly thought of is it has an anatomically shaped foot bed which will give you strong arch support.
Merrell Encore Gust– If you are on your feet for more than eight hours a day, and you believe that constant pounding is contributing to your plantar fasciitis, consider this shoe, which features an air cushioned mid sole to help dissipate stress placed on the foot, while providing arch support.
