Plantar Fasciitis is a common condition signified by pain first step in the morning. There are many treatments for plantar fasciitis including cortisone shots, night splints or orthotics. Birkenstock Mayari Sandal– This sandal has an EVA footbed. EVA is material that many orthotics are made out of. EVA provides both solid shock absorption as well as strong arch support. The EVA will mold to the individual shape of your foot providing arch support. Additionally this sandal features a deep heel cup. A deep heel cup will control excessive pronation which can lead to the development of plantar fasciitis.
Birkenstock Granada/Florida Soft Footbed sandals– Birkenstock has a line of sandals with a soft footbed. What makes a soft footbed ideal for treating plantar fasciitis is that the footbed will decrease stress and strain placed on the plantar fascia, thus reducing the pain that would be felt.
Birkenstock Larisa Sandal– This sandal is an effective sandal since it molds to the foot and provides arch support. (personally, I like the previous two better but this sandal can also be effective for treating plantar fasciitis.)
