Plantar Fasciitis is a common condition that afflicts restaurant servers and waitresses. Because of the hours that they are on their feet it places stress and strain on the Plantar Fascia, as well as strain on the supporting arch. There are many treatments for plantar fasciitis which include orthotics, night splints, cortisone shots and stretching exercises. One treatment that can help with Plantar Fasciitis is just a simple change in the sneaker or shoe being worn. Below I have listed what I believe to be the best shoes for waitresses with Plantar Fasciitis. All the shoes listed below are No slip shoes.
Dr. Scholls Winder Work Shoe– One of the traits you look for in a shoe when you have Plantar Fasciitis is the amount of padding that the shoe has. That makes this Winder shoe stick out as this shoe features a massaging gel insole. This gel will help decrease the discomfort while also supporting the arch. Remember, plantar fasciitis is caused by micro trauma of the plantar fascia with every step.
Aetrex Conform Lace Oxford– Another trait to look for in a shoe when you have Plantar Fasciitis is a shoe that provides arch support. This arch support can take stress and strain off the Plantar Fascia. This shoe accomplishes this by having a Platazote orthotic which will contour to the shape of your foot’s arch.
Grabbers Women’s AVA Hospital Shoe– This shoe fits the bill because it has an EVA insole or orthotic. This accomplishes providing both support and padding for the waitress suffering from Plantar Fasciitis.
Sketchers for Work Women’s Air Revolution Sneaker– This sneaker stands out to me because the air padding combines with the insole to provide padding during a work shift. This is probably my favorite sneaker for a waitress with Plantar Fasciitis.
