Warts on Children: The Five best treatments for getting rid of warts on kids

Warts on children are a difficult cure.  They are stubborn and they constantly reoccur.  There are many treatments and everybody’s grandma has the answer via a home remedy.  First off, relax. All warts are different and can be very difficult to get rid of.  Warts are painful and are caused by a virus.  The goal of treating the wart is to kill the virus.  Warts can spread and their are multiple different viruses that kill warts.  Here are the five best treatments for getting rid of childhood warts.  Now I did not include any common home remedies such as applying duct tape or having your dog lick them.  If your child is a diabetic you should take them to a professional rather then attempt any of these treatments.

5.  This is an important step that should be combined with all the treatments about to be listed.  The dead skin on top of the wart needs to be removed, in order to apply the medication to the wart properly.  If you put any treatment over the dead skin as it will not get to the virus in the wart due to the dead skin.  The dead skin can be easily removed by a pumice stone or scalpel blade.  If you are not comfortable in removing the dead skin yourself, make an appointment with someone who is comfortable like a Podiatrist.  You can tell you have removed most of the dead skin by the visualization of black dots.  The black dots signify the wart, and the virus causing the problem.  They tend to be very sensitive so do not worry if the black dots start to bleed. That is normal and only signifies you have taken off all the dead skin.  Below is a list of dead skin removers that can be purchased from Amazon:

4. Chemical-  These work by burning the wart off.  They are generally applied by a stick and you have to be very careful not to get the chemical on your skin as that will cause it to burn as well.  There are many different kinds of chemicals that can be used to get rid of the wart.  Below are a couple of the chemicals I recommend which are available on Amazon:

3.  Laser them off.  This treatment requires you to go to a Podiatrist, who then will burn the warts off.  This typically happens in a surgery center or hospital and generally is a fairly painless procedure.  This is a good treatment for those suffering from multiple or mosaic warts.  If you have say more than five warts this would be the preferable treatment to any of these other treatments.

2. Freeze the warts–  This can be done at home or in the doctor’s office and is one of the most common treatments for wart removal.  These can require multiple treatments just like the chemical treatments.  But they tend to be very successful.

1.  Removal of the wart— Yes sometimes the wart is just easier to cut it out.  This can even be done in a podiatrist’s office or a surgery center.  And it is what it sounds like. The Podiatrist goes in and cuts out the wart.  Now I would try some of the less invasive treatments above before having the wart cut out.  And remember warts are like a cat: they come back a lot.
