Finding sandals that are orthotic friendly is not easy. What do you look for in an orthotic friendly sandal? Its simple really: a sandal that allows you to wear an orthotic during ambulation. The trait most often associated with orthotic friendly sandals is a removable foot bed. There are not many sandals that feature a removable foot bed. Below I have listed what I believe to be the most orthotic friendly sandals that are available.
Alegria Pesca– This features a latex footbed which will mold to your foot’s shape, but is also removable which means this sandal will tolerate an orthotic with little trouble.
Aravon Kendall– Again, a removable footbed which will accomodate most any orthotic.
Mephisto Women’s Jasmine Wedge Sandal– This fashionable sandal can accommodate an orthotic as well
Finn Comfort– Guess what they have a removable insole as well. (have you noticed a pattern)
Helle Comfort– Same thing as above. Just remember a sandal is orthotic friendly only if it has a removable foot bed. If it does not have that it is not orthotic friendly.
