Trying to find Environmentally or Eco Friendly soccer cleats is difficult to almost impossible. By environmentally Friendly soccer cleats, I mean soccer cleats that were constructed utilizing recycled materials. I have scoured the internet and have found only 3 soccer cleats that would meet the criteria of environmentally friendly.
The Nike Tiempo series has a variety of cleats and all these cleats feature a recycled sock liner.
The first soccer cleat that is environmentally friendly is the Nike GS 2. The Nike GS has it all as far as environmentally friendly goes. A bioaction plate created from castor beans. A sock liner made from 100% castor beans. The boot, laces and tongue are made from 75% recyced materials and toe board and collar from 15% recycled material. That is the good news. The bad news is they are impossible to find. The Nike GS is not available from Amazon or Zappos. The only place you might find them is on Ebay or an authorized online Nike dealer.
That is why I recommend the Puma King Finale ECO. When PUMA was constructed this sneaker that looked for a part that was more environmentally friendly than the original part. The upper part uses a premium calf leather, more eco friendly than other cleats. The laces come from 100% recycled yarn. The outsole is made of 26% renewable raw materials.
