Hammer Toes: The Five Best Patient Reviewed Pads

Hammer Toes are a painful condition of the forefoot characterized by a bending or claw appearance of the toe.  Many pads can be used to help alleviate the pain from hammer toes.  Below I have listed the five best patient reviewed Hammer Toe pads.  The reviews were taken in a score out of ten.  All of these pads are available at Amazon.

5.  Pediflex Double Toe Straightner 7/10

I have a cross-over toe problem. An orthopedic doctor recommended this appliance.
This product is the best I have found to keep my toes straight.

After wearing these for the first time, was able to run 5-10 miles without metatarsal pain. I have a longer 2nd toe, fallen 2nd/3rd metatarsal heads, moderate hammertoe, and bunions.

The Toe straightener works as long as you are wearing it

4. Solon Foot Solutions Hammer Toe Cushion: 7.5/10

The fastener around the middle toe cuts off circulation

I am wearing one now. It is useless. It doesn’t nothing for the hammer toe. I want a device that will pull down the raised “knuckle” of the toe so it doesn’t smash againt the top of every shoe I own.

The material for these toe cushions is so soft and feels great against the skin

3. Foot alignment socks: 8/10

I like the socks, but they’re no miracle. The socks actually say Happy Feet on them, not plain like in the picture. I don’t think they’ll remove my bunions, but the stretching does relieve pain.

I really like these socks. Although my alignment is severe, I do believe they are helping it whenever I can wear them as I need to do. The softness and sock feature makes them very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend these.

2. Profoot care flex tastics 8/10

For me, this is the best product that I have ever purchased!! I no longer limp. The pain of walking is virtually gone. By the end of the week, there can be some fatigue, but I think that it comes with the territory of standing and walking continuously. I can actually walk down the steps in the morning with out having to take each stair one at a time.

When I first tried to put these on, my smaller toes were so badly cramped that I had to “reverse the process” by forcing the baby toe in first and stuffing the foam in between each toe…then inserting the larger ones instead of following the directions of starting with the big toe. Also… against instructions… I found that walking around a bit with them on actually seemed to help my entire foot to relax. I am not advocating going against their instructions… I am just telling what was successful for me

1. Smart Toe Stretcher and Straightener 9/10

I highly recommend these for anyone who has hammer toes, like me, or other specific foot problems, or even if your feet are just “tired” all the time. Great product!

I have a number of joint issues that make it very painful for me to walk without wearing custom orthotics and shoes. The SmartToes Ultimate Toe Stretchers enable me to walk around barefoot with almost no pain.

I tried a number of products for tailor’s bunion relief, and this one is by far the most effective. I try to wear it for at least 30 minutes every day. I experimented with not wearing it for a day and felt much worse. It seems to work by stretching the muscles and ligaments that are too tight and realigning the joints so that the foot functions properly.
