I think the Bunion Hinge Splint would be ideal for a young active person. If you are not active I would get one of the more inexpensive lightweight splints. Do not pay for the expensive model unless you feel you need it. However, if you are a runner or athlete there is a definitive advantage to the Bunion Hinged Splint. It will allow full motion at your big toe joint and as a runner you realize that having full motion in the big toe joint is needed for running and athletic activities.
