Do Yoga Toes work for Bunions or Hammer Toes?

You have probably seen these Yoga splints for hammer toes and bunions around, and probably wondered, do they work?  That is a complex answer and probably depends on what your definition of “work” is.   Here is picture of the Yoga Toes

Now you are probably thinking this is just a gimmick and there is no way these can work.  Well, here is what they will definitly not do:  If you have a bunion you will still have a bunion after using Yoga toes. The same goes for hammer toes.  The only thing that can make bunions and hammer toes go away is surgery via a Podiatrist.  Will it slow the growth of the bunions and hammer toes?  That is unclear. It will hold your toes and bunions in corrected positions which should take pressures off the ligaments and tendons and limit the deforming force.  What they definitly can do is provide you pain relief because by holding your toes in the corrected position this will reduce some of the tension and pain on the toes reducing discomfort and will almost be soothing.  If I were to get them I would wear them in the evening after a day of work and allow them to relax my toes and bunions.
