Best Tailors Bunion Splint or Braces Rated

Tailors Bunions are a painful outcropping on the outside of where the 5th toe meets the rest of the foot.  Tailors bunions can be aggravted by shoe wear, specially placing pressure on the area.  This can lead to callous formation and cause bursitis, which is an inflammation of the bunion area.  One of the ways tailors bunions can be treated is with splints or braces.  Tailors Bunion Splints are similar to regular bunion splints.  However, because of the orientation of the foot, you need a specific Tailors Bunion Splint.  Also, while Bunion Splints are focused on maintaining a straight toe, Tailors Bunion Splints are more about keeping pressure off the area, while the toe can be straightened it is not as important as in regular bunion formation.  Here are what I consider the Best Tailors Bunion Splints on the market:

Gel Bunionette Sleeve–  These Splint has a nice low profile so if you wear tight shoes or high heels this will be the splint you want.  The Gel interior will help keep pressure off the bunion area as well.  This splint will also accomplish some straightening of the toe with use.

All-Gel Bunion Guards Tailor’s Guard–  This splint is more prominent than the bunionette sleeve, but does provide a little more cushioning.  This splint will also provide minimal straightening to the toe.

Footsmart Expert Essentials Bunionette Shield–  Again here this has a low profile and will also reduce friction on the Tailors Bunion.  I personally feel since it is the same material as the All Gel with a better fit this is an ideal splint for protection of the Tailors Bunion.

Darco Toe Alignment Splint– If you have hammer toes and Bunions combined with your Tailors Bunion and searching for an all in one answer this is an ideal splint for you.  The Darco Toe Alignment splint will help straighten all the toes involved in the area.  For an isolated Tailors Bunion, the splints above would be superior since this provides minimal protection of the Tailors Bunion area, thus not reducing friction.

Comfoy Toes Alignment Socks–  I put this here for completion if most of your pain occurs at night then this may help with the discomfort.  The size and bulk of this probably makes it not practical to wear with shoes.  I hope this article helped you in your pursuit of a Tailors Bunion Splint.
