Restaurant employees are on their feet a lot, as much as eight to twelve hours a day. This can lead to foot pain from plantar fasciitis to just plain sore feet. One of the ways to counteract foot pain and to make the eight hours more bearable is to purchase a pair of orthotics or insoles. There are many to choose from on the market. What you want in an orthotic or insole is an orthotic that provides solid and stable arch support, but most importantly an orthotic that helps absorb stress. Below I have listed what I believe are the best orthotics or insoles for restaurant employees:
Spenco Rx Orthotics– If you are looking for arch support this would not be the orthotic to get. But if your primary objective is an orthotic that absorbs stress with an inexpensive price this orthotic is the one. Spenco’s orthotics utilize a patent technology that is unique to Spenco which helps absorb the stress from weight bearing.
Superfeet Orthotics– If your foot has an abnormal shape such as flat or high arched, you may want to consider a Superfeet orthotic. The advantage of SuperFeet orthotics is that each of the individual feet are compatible with an individual Superfeet orthotic. Each color is a different type of orthotic, such as green is for a high arch.
Powerstep Orthotics– My favorite orthotics on the market, in my opinion these orthotics do the best job of combining arch support with stress reduction. They do this via a polypropylene sheet with a poron top cover to absorb the stress. This orthotic is one of the most commonly sold and recommended from Podiatrists in their office, so in a way you are saving yourself a trip by purchasing one.
