Being a Barista means being on your feet for eight hours plus a day and moving. This can lead to a multiple of foot problems such as Plantar Fasciitis, Neuromas, or Bunions. One of the ways a Barista can help stem some pain and make the eight hours more bearable and enjoyable is to wear some insoles or orthotics. Now there are many orthotics and insoles on the market. How do you know how to choose the right orthotic or insole? Here are a couple orthotics or insoles I recommend for Baristas:
Spenco Polysorb– If you are looking for an orthotic to provide pure shock absorption and comfort then this would be the insole I would recommend. Now what this orthotic makes up for in a lack of arch support this insole provides a great deal of padding. Consider this orthotic like a mattress for your shoe.
Superfeet Orthotics- One of the great things about Superfeet orthotics is they can be individualized based on your foot type. They make orthotics for high arches, for flat feet; you name the foot structure and Superfeet has an orthotic or insole for it.
Powerstep Orthotics– These are the most dispensed orthotics in the country by Podiatrists. These orthotics offer the best combination of padding and arch support. The Polypropilene shell will provide arch support while the poron top cover will provide padding and shock absorption.
