A flat foot for a child is not pathologic. No orthotic or arch support is going to suddenly give your child an arch. The best orthotic for your child is a custom orthotic made specifically for your child by a Podiatrist. Sometimes these orthotics or insoles can run as much as a couple hundred dollars. However, there are orthotics and insoles that can be purchased over the counter for children or toddlers with flat feet. Now what you want is an orthotic or insole that will provide arch support, but not too much of an arch as that will be uncomfortable for your child. Below I have listed a couple examples of the best orthotics or insoles for Toddlers with flat feet:
Pedag Bambini APMA Accepted Orthotic Toddler– This orthotic is certified by the APMA (the big Podiatry organization). It is not a full length orthotic but primerily provides arch support and will be a comfortable fit for your child. It is also very resilient and flexible and extremely comfortable for your child.
Pro Tech Powerkids Pediatric Orthotics– I love Powerstep. They are my favorite orthotic on the market. They feature a polypropilene shell with a poron top cover. This is probably my favorite orthotic for toddlers as I feel it has the best combination of support as well as comfort.
Footminders Kids Orthotics– This orthotic is specifically created with a child’s flat foot in mind. I personally wonder about the comfort but this orthotic does provide some of the strongest arch support you will find on the market.
