Best Orthotics for Ice Skates

You cannot wear your normal orthotics with Ice Skates for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that ice skating puts different biomechinical stresses on your foot than your foot experiences while walking.  The first question is should you buy orthotics for your ice skates?  The answer to that is simple: do you ice skate enough to justify the purchase?  If you only go skating four times a year do not waste the money, nothing will happen to your foot in such a short skating time.  But if you Ice Skate regularly or play on a hockey team then, yes, getting special orthotics for your Ice Skates is a good idea.  Now you will not find orthotics you can ice skate with in WalMart. Those orthotics will be too small or too bulky to comfortably fit in an Ice skate.  What you need is an orthotic that is sleek and can function in the confide place such as an Ice Skate.  Below I have listed a couple examples of orthotics that can be used during Ice Skating and in Ice Skates.

Shock Doctor Skate Insoles–  Look at the sleek design which can easily fit into an Ice Skate.  Also this insole was designed with an Ice Skate in mind.  Full foot shock absorbing foam provides cushion and support so that you can train/play longer and harder.

Superfeet Premium Insoles– Again look at the sleek design. This is what you want to look for in an orthotic that can fit into ice skates.  I like this orthotic because of the Encapsulating Stabilizer System which helps provide underfoot support in your ice skate.
