The other advantage these shoes have over other shoes you will encounter for hallux limitus is they feature a rocker bottom. This rocker bottom will allow the toe to move the shoe and keep stress off the joint.
Deer Stag’s Mens Pursuit Flat– Another shoe with a large toe box and a rocker bottom. Also, both this and the Clog above provide solid support which will minimize motion at the big toe joint.
Dockers Gordon Cap Toe Oxford– If you are in the market for a more traditional shoe, look for a shoe similar to this which features a large toe box with a solid footing. These do not feature any rocker bottoms.
Rockports– I like Rockports in general for Hallux Limitus. They generally feature a wide toe box and solid support to help minimize movement at the joint.
