Sever’s disease is an inflammation of the growth plate in the Calcaneus. It is generally brought on by repeated trauma to the area causing inflammation and pain in the heel. There are man treatments for Sever’s disease including but not limited to rest, physical therapy, orthotics or a heel cup. If you are a boy or girl playing Lacrosse between the ages of 10-15, you are at an increased risk of Severs disease. Some cleats are better for Sever’s disease than others.
