Best Indoor Soccer Shoes for Sever’s Disease

Sever’s disease is a pain in the heel brought about by micro trauma to the calcaneus (heel bone) growth plate.  Between the ages of 10-15 the growth plate is open, and in some children that results in pain.  The pain is generally brought on by a sport such as soccer.  What you want in an indoor soccer shoe for a child with Sever’s disease is a shoe that has a great deal of cushioning in the heel to help reduce the amount of stress placed on the heel while playing soccer.  Below I have listed what I believe to be the best indoor soccer shoes for kids with Sever’s disease:

Nike Kids JR CTR 360 Libretto III IC Indoor Soccer Shoe–  This shoe features an EVA die cut sockliner.  EVA is a wonderful material for dealing with a child with Sever’s disease. EVA will mold to your child’s foot while providing enough cushioning to help reduce some of the force exerted on your child’s growth plate.

Diadora Dd Eleven ID Jr Soccer Shoe–  Again this shoe also features EVA but this time the EVA is a foam, which in my opinion may provide more shock absorption than the Nike listed above. Both are effective, however.
