Best Hiking Boots for Flat Feet

Trying to find the right pair of hiking boots when you have flat feet can be difficult.  It can require you to try on multiple pairs.  There are many different pairs of hiking boots on the market, but there are certain ones that are ideal for people suffering from flat feet.  What do you look for in a hiking boot when you have flat feet?  You want a hiking boot that will support your arch but not place too much pressure on the arch as that will result in pain.  Below I have listed what I believe the best hiking boots for people with flat feet are:

Merrell Men’s Mid Sport GTX Minimal Trail shoe–  A minimal shoe for flat feet? The answer is yes, this shoe features an EVA footbed.  What is EVA? It is the material most of your orthotics are made out of.  What the EVA footbed will do is contour to the shape of your foot to accommodate your foot’s unique stress while not having a high arch which would cause your foot fatigue and pain.

Keen Depart WP CNX Hiking Shoe–  This shoe features a contoured arch support within the hiking boot which helps support your arch.  I would not recommend this shoe for a severe flat foot, but if you have a mild to moderate flat foot this could be the hiking boot for you.

Alpinestars CR 4 Gore Tex XCR Boot–  This is probably the best hiking boot for those people with flat feet.  This shoe features an EVA footbed which I covered above with the Merrell GTX.  But this shoe additionally features a TPU shank in the arch for further support to your arch.
