Best Field Hockey Cleats for Artificial Turf

A great deal of Field Hockey is played on artificial turf. Finding the right Field Hockey shoes to wear on artificial turf can be tricky.  In most cases you do not want to wear the same cleats you wear on grass on turf.  If a cleat has cleats that are greater than one inch, then it will place the player at greater risk of knee and ankle injuries. The cleat can get stuck in the turf leading to ankle and knee sprains. Field Hockley cleats for turf generally have no cleats or cleats that are less then half an inch.

ASICS Women’s Gel Neo Field Hockey Shoe–  I tend to always gravitate towards ASICS shoes as they tend to be the most comfortable shoes on the market.  This shoe is no different with the gel heel.  Remember, the turf will place greater stress on the foot than a simple grass field will and this extra proctection can help your daughter get through a game relatively pain free.  If your daughter has a history of Sever’s disease this is definitly the shoe I would purchase.  This shoe also has added protection in the forefoot and midfoot area.

ASICS Women’s Gel BK Heath 5 Field Hockey Shoe–  Similar to the Gel Neo above, the differences are rather unnoticeable. It comes down to appearance and preference but both are superior Field Hockey Shoes for Artificial Turf.
