Flat feet can be painful and make it difficult to find shoes, particularly dress shoes. Finding a comfortable dress shoe for your daughter who has flat feet to wear without discomfort is not an easy task. A lot of dress shoes are not orthotic friendly, and since your daughter is only going to wear the dress shoes sporadically that is not much of an issue.
So what are you looking for? What do you want in a dress shoe for a girl with flat feet? One thing you do not want is the arch of the shoe to be too high as that will only cause your daughter’s feet to hurt. You want the material to be able to mold towards the size of your daughter’s foot. Flat feet tend to be wider than the average foot so you do not want a narrow shoe, and you also need to have comfort and padding on the bottom of the shoe to mitigate stress on the foot. So below I have found a couple examples of what I believe are the best dress shoes for girls with flat feet: (needless to say no high heels will make this list)
Darling Party Shoe with Daisy for Girls: This shoe has the width and the proper material to comfortably fit a flat foot. It also features an inner lining to help with comfort during gait and to help reduce the stress on the feet.
Hus Puppies Pep Rally Mary Jane– The rubber sole and cushioned foot bed make this shoe a quality shoe for a girl who has flat feet.
Stride Rite Buffy CG Flat– Flats again, but you really need to get your daughter flats if she has flat feet. High heels can worsen a flat foot, and will be uncomfortable for your child to wear.
Stride Rite Clair Flat– This is probably my favorite girl’s dress shoe for flat feet. This shoe features a padded insole which functions similarly to an orthotic. I feel this shoe offers the best combination of functional control while maintaining comfort.
