Best Bunion Splint For Running

What do you look for in a bunion splint that you want to wear while you are running?  There is a vast selection of bunion splints.  A runner needs a bunion splint that allows freedom of movement of the big toe joint while at the same time holding the toe in the corrected position.  Also, if it could pad the bunion so it does not rub against the sneaker that would help as well.  Below I have tried to choose what I believe are the best bunion splints for runners.  I think every runner is unique so what might be the best bunion splint for one is not the best one for another.  I gave a little description of what splint might be ideal for what runners.

Pediflex Gel Bunion Guard–  If the pain during running primarily occurs at the bump on the outside then this bunion splint may be all you need. While this splint will not straighten your toe, it will pad your bunion from rubbing against your sneaker via a gel pad.  This will prevent the bunion from getting aggravated while running.  It is simple to apply and does not take up a lot of space.

Yasco Bunion Toe Straightener–  This splint will hold your toe straight as well as pad the bunion to reduce inflammation.  This splint also keeps a low profile so it should fit in the sneaker with little trouble.  I highly recommend this bunion splint for runners with bunions.

Bunion Aid Hinged Splint–  This is the splint chosen by the most runners as it is the only hinged bunion splint on the market.  So it holds your toe straight while at the same time allowing freedom of movement of the big toe joint.  The Big Toe joint being crucial to runners, this is a very popular choice.
