Are Field Hockey Cleats and Soccer Cleats the same thing?

A common question that many mother’s and father’s ask everyday is “Can my daughter wear soccer cleats for field hockey?”  The answer is Yes of course they can. Field hockey cleats are extremely similar to soccer cleats.  In fact the cleat structure in most cases is the same exact as soccer.  The differences are in the body of the shoe. Field Hockey cleats tend to be more breathable with greater cushioning in the heel as well as a stronger toe box to help protect the foot in case it gets hit with a stick.  Now, I will say this if you are getting soccer cleats because you cannot find Field Hockey Cleats that is wrong. There are plenty of Field Hockey Cleats available on Amazon. I listed a couple here:

So I think it depends on your daughter, but if she just wants to try Field Hockey, then consider soccer cleats. If your daughter is going to play Field Hockey on a JV or Varsity team then I think the choice for Field Hockey Cleats is the way I would go.
