Finding cycling shoes for flat feet is not easy as most cycling shoes are not created with flat feet in mind. However, there are some cycling shoes that are better than others. When looking for cycling shoes that are ideal for flat feet, you want to look for shoes that support the arch while contouring to a person’s foot shape, specifically. You do not want a shoe with a high arch as that will cause fatigue and pain in the area. Below I have listed what I believe are the best cycling shoes for people with flat feet:
Pear Izumi X-Alp– This shoe has a footbed that features the material, EVA. Why is EVA important? EVA is a material that will mold to the specific shape and contour of your foot, while providing solid arch support. EVA is a material that can be found in lots of shoes and if you have flat feet, I encourage you to purchase shoes with an EVA midsole.
Louis Garneau Pro Race– This shoe is a little bit different in that it features two separate insoles: one is EVA, the other is Irgo Ice Fit Air Dual Density. These insoles are interchangeable. That basically means removable so you could even use your own personal insoles or other orthotics that may work better for you for the insole of this shoe.
Giro Petra– This is a little less expensive version of a cycling shoe with an EVA midsole you may want to consider
Shimano SH-MT44– This is one more option of a cycling shoe that utlizies EVA as its midsole and footbed.
