Best Socks for Bunion Sufferers

Hard as it is to believe there are socks out there that are made specifically for people who suffer from bunions.  But which bunion sock should you get? First, no sock is going to get rid of your bunion; the only thing that can make a bunion disappear is surgery by a Podiatrist.  What a sock can do is ease the stress and strain put on your foot by a bunion and help stabilize it.  Below I have listed what I believe the best socks for bunion sufferers are:

A popular bunion sock is the foot alignment sock.  These socks are exceptional and holding your bunion straight and if you have hammer toes it can help straigthen those as well.  The problem with those socks is they are almost impossible to fit into shoes; you can wear them around the house but that is about it.  But if you have severe bunions and hammer toes and are looking for something to wear around the house, foot alignment socks can be a good idea.

Gel Lined Compression Toe Separating socks–   These are socks that can fit into shoes, albeit with another sock on top of them.  These socks have the added benefit of having gel incorporated within the sock, which can help reduce the pressure the bunions and toes would feel.  However, these socks will not straighten your bunion as much as you would probably like. These socks are probably best for someone with multiple toe issues with their foot.

Footsmart Bunion Support Sock–  This is the sock I recommend for bunion sufferers.  These socks only address the bunion, none of the other toes.  It has a toe spacer for between the second toe and the big toe.  As well as protective padding on the outside of the bunion, to reduce inflammation and irritation on the bunion.  The best part about this sock, however is that is can function as a sock as well. You can wear it with most any sneaker or shoe and it will function just like a sock
