Custom Orthotics are a common treatment for Achilles Tendonitis. The theory behind custom orthotics in the use of Achilles Tendonitis is that there are biomechanical issues that lead to development of the Achilles Tendonitis. Recently, there was a randomized controlled study of the use of Custom orthotics in the treatment of Achilles Tendonitis. The study demonstrated that custom orthotics are no more effective than generic orthotics in the treatment of Achilles Tendonitis.
