Barefoot or Minimalist running is the recent fad in running circles. I am a Podiatrist, and personally disagree that this is the best way to run or jog. I believe a traditional running shoe is safer and more biomechinically sound than a minimalist shoe. But I digress, I wrote this article to give my opinion on what I thought the best minimalist or barefoot running shoes are.

What I look for in a good minimalist shoe is a safe material, first and foremost. As well as a structually sound shoe.
Best Minimalist Running Shoes:
New Balance MX20v7– New Balance is one of the major shoe companies to get involved with the barefoot movement. As with all New Balance sneakers, they put their name behind the shoe and you know it will be well made. This shoe features only a 4mm from heel to toe with Vibraim base.
New Balance MR10v2 Minimus Running Shoe– New Balance again. They always make a great sneaker. Again this sneaker only has a 4mm drop from heel to toe. The difference between this shoe and the one above is this shoe is 1.3 Ounces lighter. It also is constructed of full rubber
