What do you look for in a sandal when you have hallux limitus, hallux rigidus or big toe arthritis (all essentially the same thing)? You want a sandal with a rocker bottom. Why a rocker bottom? You want a rocker bottom sandal because that will takes stress of the big toe joint where your pain is eminating from. Below I have given a couple examples of sandals that feature a rocker bottom:

Dansko This sandal is similar to the Algeria above. I would not recommend it for severe hallux limitus, but as you can see the rocker bottom is in full effect. Again the Dansko sandals all feature a rocker bottom making them ideal for hallux limitus with different models and forms.
Cordani– This is one of the more expensive lines that feature a hallux limitus friendly design
MBT Sandals– This is one of my favorite sandals for hallux limitus. Look at how the rocker bottom encompasses the whole shoe. If you have a severe case, this would be the sandal to get
Ryn Black Cafri Sandal– Here is another sandal I would recommend for a severe case, as the rocker bottom encompasses the whole sandal
