Best Running Shoes for Overpronation

Overpronation is a common condition that effects many runners (editors note there is some debate whether overpronation even exists).  The theory is that overpronation can result in many conditions that afflicts runners such as: pes planus, Plantar Fasciitis or Achilles Tendonitis, to name a few.  There are many different treatments for overpronation. The main one used is orthotics.

Another treatment that can be successful in the treatment of overpronation is wearing running sneakers or shoes that can help reduce the effects of overpronation.  What type of characteristics are you looking for in a shoe that provides good protection from overpronation?   One, you want a good deep heel cup which will help control motion in the heel where most pronation occurs.  Also, you want good solid arch support to help support your arch during running.  There are many sneakers that are ideal to help with the treatment of overpronation.
