High Heels are naturally not orthotic friendly. Part of their appeal is the tight fit that does not leave a lot of room for orthotics. So you are probably thinking I have to choose between wearing my high heels or wearing my orthotics. There is no way I can do both. Well, actually there is. There are some high heels that actually were created with orthotics in mind and allow you to have the fasion of high heels, while at the same time being able to wear your orthotics.
So what do we look for in orthotic friendly high heels? You want a high heel that preferably posseses a removable insole that you can simply take out and then comfortably place in your orthotic. This is not a very common feature among high heels, however there are a couple that do provide this.
Taos Women’s Stunner Mary Jane– Now this high heel was not developed with orthotics in mind but it does feature a removable insole that should be able to comfortably fit an orthotic in it.
Merrel Women’s Veranda Pump– Here we go as this shoe is wide enough for comfort but provides pleny of room for your orthotics. It also features removable insoles.
