Cycling orthotics have become more popular in the past year. There are a lot of orthotics that claim to be cycling orthotics. What makes a cycling orthotic? Essentially, the orthotic has to be thin so it can fit into a cycling shoe. If you wear a normal shoe when you cycle, you do not need a cycling orthotic, you can wear a normal one. Also, you want a cycling orthotic that is lightweight as well. A heavy orthotic may effect your cycling. Now the best cycling orthotics are orthotics that are made custom for you by a Podiatrist. These custom orthotics can be expensive, sometimes as much as $600. They can be covered by insurance in some cases. You should check with your insurance company if these orthotics are covered. Now there are over the counter orthotics you can buy for cycling for less cost. These orthotics should not exceed $50 in most cases (there is a company that sells them for $150, they are a rip off). Below I have listed two examples of cycling orthotics.
Superfeet Black Premium Insoles– These sleek orthotics are thin and profile as well as lightweight. As you can tell just by looking at most of these orthotics you can see the design and whether they are cycling orthotics.
Sole Softech Response Custom Footbed– This orthotic is thin and will conform to the shape of your foot or you can just wear them out of the box either way will be effective.
