Working on concrete floors is strenous work which places a great deal of stress and strain on to the feet. There are many ways to combat the pains that are caused by working on concrete floos such as changing shoe gear. One of the more popular methods is via orthotics or insoles in your shoes. The orthotic can help cushion your foot and reduce the stress, while at the same time provide much needed arch support. There are many different orthotics or insoles out there. Which is the best for working on concrete floors?
The best orthotic for working on concrete floors is a custom orthotic made by a Podiatrist. A podiatrist takes a cast of your foot and then sends it off to the orthotic lab to make an orthotic specifically designed for your foot. These orthotics can cost as much as $600, though they are sometimes covered by insurance. If insurance would cover them, that is the way to go. If not there are more inexpensive orthotics or insoles that can be a solution to your issue. Below I have identified what I consider are the best orthotics or insoles for working on concrete floors.
Spenco Polysorb Total Support- This orthotic provides a great deal of comfort. It is created with materials which will comfort your foot and reduce the stress that the foot feels during ambulation. This orthotic provides little arch support. But if you are just looking for an orthotic to help your foot hurt less, this is an ideal orthotic.
PowerStep– These are my favorite orthotics. I feel this orthotic does the best job of combining arch support with comfort. It has a Polyprolene support shell with a Neoprene cover to help with comfort. In my mind if you work on concrete floors this is the orthotic that I would choose.
