Whether you have flat feet or plantar fasciitis one way to treat those conditions is via orthotics or insoles. But what orthotics or insoles are the best for golfers? The ideal orthotic or insole for a golfer is a custom orthotic made by a Podiatrist. These orthotics are made utilizing a cast or a foam box, to get an impression of your foot. The Podiatrist then sends to the lab to get a custom orthotic for your foot. However, these orthotics can be expensive; as much as $600, although sometimes they are covered by insurance.
Before doing that try over the counter orthotics which in most conditions can be successful. What are the best orthotics or insoles for golfers? Well, it depends on the condition. Below I have listed what I believe to be the best orthotics for golfers:
Lynco Callaway Orthotics– These orthotics are manufactured by well known golf company, Callaway, combined with orthotic company Lynco. These orthotics are specifically formulated to help walk 18 holes and support your arch. If you are looking for an orthotic specifically formulated with the golfer in mind this is the orthotic.
Footminders Comfort Orthotic Insoles– These orthotics are specifically developed to fit in sport shoes of all kinds. These orthotics provide a firm arch support and feature cushioning in the heel and forefoot pads. The orthotics claim to be effective for flat feet, though I would not advise them for flat feet due to the firmness of the arch support. They may cause your foot to fatigue during 18 holes. These orthotics would be ideal for younger golfers suffering from plantar fasciitis, or forefoot pain.
Archmolds Ultimate Cushion Insole– Heat molded EVA and utilization of arch spring technology are what set this orthotic apart. Again, specifically formulated for golf shoes. The moldable EVA makes this orthotic ideal for golfers suffering from flat feet, or high arches as well. This orthotic will contour to your feet, and can also be successful for treating plantar fasciitis.
