There is no pad in existence which will make your hammer toes straight. The only thing that will straighten hammer toes is surgery by a Podiatrist. However, there are pads and splints that will hold your toe straight. The toe will buckle after you remove the pads, but these pads will hold your toe straight. What I have done is ranked what I believe are the three best hammer toe straighteners on the market:
Pediflex Single or Double toe Straigheners– This will be effective as long as you have a flexible deformity. A flexible deformity is one in which you can manually straighten your toe. These toes have a pad on the plantar surface where pain can commonly eminate from in hammer toes. This pad will also help to avoid the elevation of the toe that can lead to rubbing in hammer toes.
Left Foot Triple Toe Overlapping toe straightener– A common issues with hammer toes is they can over lap each other, especially the second toe overlapping the big toe. This hammer toe straightener was specifically designed for this instance. Also, this splint can be ideal if you have a more rigid deformity.
Silipos Hammer Toe Pads– These pads are actually a throw back pad made by podiatrists termed a crest pad. These provide cushioning as well as comfort at the site of the deformity as termed a crest pad. These are probably going to be the straightener that will provide the most comfort of the hammer toe straighteners.
