Trying to find environmentally friendly running shoes or sneakers can be difficult but there are a lot of them out there. What I have done is found what I consider to be the most environmentally friendly running shoes on the market. Some sneakers are more environmentally friendly than others. Below I have listed what I consider the most environmentally friendly running shoes on the market.
Vibram Five Fingers Smartwool– If barefoot running is your deal this is the sneaker for you. The top features renewable merino wool, while the sole is made from a rubber base which is at least 50% of recycled metals.
Brooks Green Silence– Every portion of this shoe is made in an eco friendly or sustainable way. This shoe gets its color from soy based dyes. This shoe features the only Bomogo biodegrable midsole.
Newton’s Sir Isaac and Lady Isaac– While only 10% of the sole comes from recycled material, the lacings and webbings come from 100% recycled material.
North Face Mountain Sneaker– This sneaker features renewable plant cellulose fibers that make up both the inside and outside portions of the shoe. Additionally, the outer sole is manufactured from 40% recycled materials.
